Mizzou’s garden is nationally recognized: in April 2025, the Mizzou Botanic Garden earned Level II Arboretum Accreditation, making Mizzou one of only ten universities in the U.S. designated as both an accredited botanic garden campus and an arboretum. We’re also proud to be a Tree Campus — a reflection of our commitment to environmental stewardship and a vibrant campus landscape.

On Mizzou Giving Day, you can support this nationally recognized landscape – along with some of its most popular residents. With a gift of $25 or more to Mizzou Botanic Garden, donors will be permitted to unofficially name one of the Garden’s squirrels — a light‑hearted way to leave your mark — and our way of saying thanks for your support.
