School of Medicine

The mission of the University of Missouri School of Medicine is to improve the health of Missourians and the nation by providing excellent health care education, with special emphasis on the needs of rural communities, and by generating new knowledge through health-related research.

The For All We Call Mizzou campaign will advance the School of Medicine’s robust research on cures for cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and other ailments.

MU provides the area’s largest and most comprehensive pediatric health-care facility, featuring more than 30 specialties just for children. And the school’s top-ranked programs in primary care and education serve the growing aging population by improving care in hospitals and nursing homes and discovering new treatments for chronic diseases.

Our vision for teaching and research is simple: improve the lives of people in our community, our state and our nation by finding new ways to treat the most threatening diseases.

Your support benefits:

  • Faculty — We seek to create more than 35 endowed chairs and professorships that will aid in our goal of becoming a top public medical school based on National Institutes of Health funding.
  • Students — Your generosity will help expand our endowed student scholarships.
  • Research — We seek the resources to continue renovation of existing space within the School of Medicine and to create state-of-the-art research facilities in the proposed Health Sciences Research Center. With more than 250,000 square feet of space, the center would help to recruit and retain world-class physician-scientists who have the ability to attract significant federal grants and other external funding for their studies.
