The mission of the College of Human Environmental Sciences touches the heart of humanity: to develop and nurture human potential, and to improve society through the scientific study of basic human needs.
Our historic, land-grant roots make University research and learning available to the community, state, nation and world. We apply scientific solutions to address contemporary challenges to human quality of life. Our influence extends around the globe, thanks to our dedicated alumni and renowned faculty.
HES encompasses:

Architectural Studies, to improve quality of life through design of the physical environment;

Human Development and Family Studies, to understand and help individuals and families across the life span;

Nutritional Sciences, to improve human health through the study of diet and exercise;

Personal Financial Planning, to help individuals and families reach their financial and economic goals;

Social Work, to assist the most vulnerable members of our population in order to nurture stable and productive individuals, families and communities; and

Textile and Apparel Management, to address global issues related to textiles and clothing.
