Graduate School

The MU Graduate School offers graduate students the academic power that comes with the University of Missouri’s status as both a top-level research institution and a land-grant university. With more than 92 master’s degree programs and 62 doctoral degree programs, the Graduate School educates more than 6,000 students. In fact, MU grants the most doctoral degrees of any institutions in Missouri.

As the demand for the Graduate School continues to grow, so does the need to offer competitive fellowships. Fellowships enable student to focus on academics and research without the worry of financing their education. Fellowship stipends range from $5,000 to $13,500 per year. The Graduate School’s goals are to increase the number of fellowships offered. Last year, 10 fellowships were available for doctoral and master’s students. The Graduate School can attract the world’s strongest students through increased fellowship support.

Supporting the Graduate School can help in other ways:

  • Increase the number of fellowships awarded to doctoral and master’s students.
  • Expand opportunities for students to travel for research or professional meetings through travel scholarships. Roughly 40 travel scholarships are awarded per year, each one supporting from $250 to $1,500 in travel expenses.
  • Give the MU Graduate School a competitive edge in attracting bright, up-and-coming students.
  • Introduce innovative graduate curricula.
  • Assist graduate students with career and professional development.

The Graduate School is the backbone of future innovation and professional advancement. With continued support, we will educate tomorrow’s researchers, professionals and advocates in multiple industries, including alternative energy, autism, environmental preservation, health care, public affairs, economics and the arts.

Your support will help make the Graduate School an educational leader within the University, state of Missouri and country.

We appreciate your generosity.
